Entry Control Systems - GSM
In a situation where it is not possible to supply a telephone line for the TelGuard, we are able to provide
a GSM interface.
Rather than plugging the TelGuard into a phone socket, the unit is plugged into the interface which has the same ‘BT’type socket. Power is required for the interface and an aerial (supplied with the product) which will need to be sited to provide the optimum GSM signal.
A SIM card will need to be purchased by the end user for insertion into the interface and the Network Provider will need to be the one providing the best signal for the area. The SIM could be Pay As You Go or on Contract depending on level of usage and frequency of top up required to keep the Pay As You Go SIM in sufficient credit.
The TelGuard will lose the second number dial facility by dialling via the interface as the BT exchange timings do not apply to this specific set up, but where the GSM Plus is utilised, full and enhanced facilities are available.
TelGuard GSM Plus
The GSM Plus is a stand alone GSM based system to which a speaker and microphone combined with push buttons or a keypad with display option available.
This system will require a SIM card through which to dial in/out via the mobile phone network. This could be on a Contract or Pay As You Go.
The GSM Plus has 5 clean contact relays operated by DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency).
Pin codes and telephone call point numbers are able to be activated and deactivated during specific programmable times. So if a call point wants to be deactivated during the night and reactivated at a specific time in the morning, time slots may be allocated according to those specified by the user. Equally a time zone may be attached to a specific PIN to allow access only during a programmed time slot.
